Open QIF File

QIF is used by Symantec Corporation\”s \”DESQview\” application that was used in the MS-DOS era to allow multitasking. The application was originally created by a company called Quarterdeck, which was later acquired by Symantec. This application is no longer under active sales or maintenance. This extension is also used by Apple\”s QuickTime for images.

Open QIF File on Windows OS

  • Look for an QIF file you need to open in Windows Explorer and double-click on it
  • If the file doesn’t open automatically and you see a “Windows can’t open a file” message then you should search for a program which can open QIF file
  • If you have a program which can open QIF file installed on your computer then launch that program and select “File” and then “Open” or similar options from its menu to open the QIF file
