MTS is a high definition MPEG Transport Stream Video format that usually called AVHCD. It is used by imaging companies like Sony, Panasonic and many others who manufacture HD video recording equipment such as camcorders. This format is based on MPEG-2 and supports resolutions of 720p to 1080i.
Open MTS File on Windows OS
- Look for an MTS file you need to open in Windows Explorer and double-click on it
- If the file doesn’t open automatically and you see a “Windows can’t open a file” message then you should search for a program which can open MTS file
- If you have a program which can open MTS file installed on your computer then launch that program and select “File” and then “Open” or similar options from its menu to open the MTS file
